Specialist breastfeeding medicine and infant feeding support

Nice to meet you, I’m Dr Beth!
MBChB, DCH, FRNZCGP

I’m a GP with an extended role in breastfeeding medicine, here to provide specialist support for feeding your baby, however that looks for your whānau. Originally from the UK I trained in Manchester before moving to Christchurch in 2013.

As a mum of two I developed an interest in breastfeeding medicine following my own experiences of feeding little people, as well as seeing the many challenges faced by my patients and a desire to help and guide people through the transition to parenthood.

I have spent the past 4 years studying and upskilling in breastfeeding medicine, I’m a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, and a founding board member of the Breastfeeding Medicine Association of Aotearoa.

I’m passionate about supporting you to feed your baby in a way that works for you and your whānau, providing evidence based guidance for any challenges you might face and empowering you with the tools you need to feel informed and confident on your parenting journey.

When I’m not in clinic I can be found providing education for healthcare professionals, crocheting, playing the piano, and taxiing children between their never ending list of extra-curricular activities!
